How it works

Plants sit on the Gro-Tank’s sloping tray and nutrient solution is constantly pumped from the tank over the bare roots on the tray above. Whatever the roots don’t take up flows down the slope and back into the tank.

The solution is continuously oxygenated with an air tube. The roots have unrestricted access to nutrients and oxygen – maximising nutrient uptake and growth. NFT doesn’t require media. Well-rooted plants are added to the Gro-Tank without the need for media.

There’s no going back from a Gro-Tank – the results are incredible.

Growers Tips

Check roots first
Ensure plants are root bound before they go into the system. An abundance of white roots should be visible on the outside of the starter media.

One plant per square foot
This is a rule of thumb and can be increased or decreased depending on plant variety.

Run 24/7
Pump runs constantly, there’s no need for a segmental timer or feeding schedule.

Give the roots more oxygen
Completely remove plastic wrapping from Stonewool cubes or remove pots if using soil or coco. This allows the roots to access more oxygen.

Support
NFT is a bare rooted growing technique. All but the smallest of plants will need additional support, i.e. yoyo’s, Soft tie or Trellis netting.

As with all hydroponic systems the reservoir should be emptied and replenished every week to maintain a perfect balance of essential nutrient and Mineral elements. This is easy to do - just reverse the pump and attach it to a length of hose.
